Highlands & Islands Fire and Rescue Service

Retained Station
This station is normally staffed by up to 12 personnel working on a retained duty system. It is provided with a fire appliance which is equipped to deal with all types of emergency including structural fires and road traffic collisions. All of the staff are trained in responding to these incidents.

As part of their work, staff are also heavily involved in community fire safety activities, which includes carrying out Home Fire Safety checks.

Fire crews called to chip pan fire in kitchen of one and a half storey dwelling. Fire damage to kitchen and smoke damage throughout the house. Two breathing apparatus and one hosereel jet in use.

A large area of forestry and moorland, approximately 1.5 by 1 kilometer, destroyed by fire. The fire was extinguished by three main jets, beaters, knapsack tanks, an argocat vehicle and waterbombing from a helicopter.
