Highland and Islands Fire Board Convener, Richard Durham was in attendance to perform the official openings.

07/09/2011 04:00	Statement from Chief Fire Officer on Fire Reform	Following today’s announcement of a Single Fire Service for Scotland, by the First Minister, Highlands & Islands Fire & Rescue Service’s (HIFRS) Chief Fire Officer, Trevor Johnson, said “Whilst the Government’s announcement of a single Fire and Rescue Service for Scotland was not the preferred option of the Chief Fire Officers’ Association (Scotland), I believe that that we must now look forward, with all stakeholders working together in a positive manner to deliver the Government’s preferred option.
