The carrying out of a Fire Safety Risk Assessment is a necessity for all businesses in Scotland. As part of that Risk Assessment, businesses will have the need to record the application and maintenance of all fire safety measures taken within their premises.

For businesses who are unsure of how to record fire safety measures they have implemented,  a blank log book for recording all fire safety measures taken has been produced by the Scottish Business Crime Centre (SBCC).

The log book will allow businesses to record this data in a format which is agreed as good practice by Fire Service professionals. Any pages from the log book that are not applicable as a result of the findings of the fire safety risk assessment should be removed and destroyed.
