Legislative  Safety

The Service has a duty to discharge the Fire Board's obligations in terms of the Fire (Scotland) Act 2005.  It fulfills this duty through consultation with appropriate bodies, and has a programme to audit high risk premises.

These audits are undertaken by the highly skilled district staff based in 11 districts throughout the Service area, supported by the Community Risk Managmement department.

The Service works in partnership with the local authorities and other partners to promote legislative safety education throughout the Service area.
