Fire Safety Badge - Dingwall 1st Brownies

Wednesday 26th September 2007 saw the culmination of three weeks of hard work by the 17 members of Dingwall 1st Brownie Group who under the guidance of Fire Fighters Mark Morrison and Stuart Lemmon passed their Fire Safety Badge.  In order for the girls to pass they had to identify how fires in the home start and ways to prevent them, where smoke detectors should be fitted, they had to draw a plan of their homes with escape route and most importantly what they would do in the event of a fire - from calling the service to the appliance arriving at the scene.  The girls were given a tour of Dingwall Fire Station along with a mock exercise allowing them to see all that they were taught put in to practice.

Dingwall Receive New Colours

Dingwall Retained Station received their new colours on Tuesday 19 September 2006.  The colours were presented to the Station during a short ceremony by Councillor Margaret Patterson.  Money to purchase the colours was donated by the community.

A Service of Dedication for the new colours was held on Sunday 15 October at Dingwall Castle Street Church of Scotland.

The Reverand Dr Bruce Richie conducted the service with readings by Joe Yates and Chief Fire Officer Brian Murray. The service was designed as a blessing on the emergency services as a whole.  The service was well attended.
