To enhance community safety a Community Response Unit (CRU) is based in Eriskay providing a Service resource for the local area. Whilst the role of Community Response Units varies throughout the Service area (being tailored to match identified risk) the Eriskay unit supports the Service by providing:
- The delivery of Community Safety information and education to drive down risk and enhance community safety.
In delivering the Community Fire Safety role, the unit provides a valuable contribution to supporting the Service aim to reduce incidents through the promotion of Community Safety initiatives focused on local communities and identified vulnerable groups.
