David Gill - Personal Profile
David Gill commenced his Fire Service career with South Yorkshire County Fire Service in 1987 at the age of 25. His earlier working life was in coal mining in Barnsley where he worked as a coal face worker at Woolley Colliery.
David transferred to the Highland and Islands Fire Brigade on promotion to the rank of Station Officer within the Training Department in March 1998.
He was promoted to the position of District Officer for Skye and Lochalsh in 1999 where he continued to serve until he took up his latest post as Divisional Officer, Deputy Area Commander, within South Command in July 2003.
David is currently based at the Kyle Area Office.
